Liberty Spine & Pain Center, PC (formerly Pain Management Northwest, Inc.) seeks to hire a Physician Assistant to join our interventional pain management practice. We have been serving Salem, Oregon and surrounding area for over 20 years. We run a small, but very busy practice providing high quality interventional pain management services in our community. Most referrals come from providers in our local community of Salem and Keizer plus nearby towns lying within the I-5 corridor; however, we serve a large referral base representing all specialties and primary care over a large geographical area.
Clinic Hours:
Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:30pm.
Office is closed all nights, weekends, and major holidays.
5-day work weeks. This is a full-time position.
Physician Assistant will work under the supervision of the physician using a collaborative team-care model, providing specialty pain management care in the outpatient clinic setting.
Professional duties will include responsibilities such as:
Office visits: obtain and document medical history for both new and established patients
Perform physical examinations
Order and interpret diagnostic studies – imaging, electrodiagnostic, urine and blood analysis
Make diagnostic assessments; provide medical rationale and medical decision making
Create treatment plans, tailored to patient’s individual needs, which may include: injection procedures, PT, medications, referral to other specialists
On all new patients, present case to supervising physician and discuss your assessment and plan
Review outcomes of injection procedures and other prescribed treatment
Prescribe medications as indicated and as appropriate
Assist the physician in managing the clinic opioid compliance program
Educate and counsel patients on their diagnosis, prognosis, natural history, treatment options, risks/benefits of interventional procedures
Refer for other specialty consultation as indicated
Document patient encounters into electronic health record (NextGen)
Record most appropriate diagnostic codes using ICD-10
Select appropriate E/M codes and procedure CPT codes for billing

Requirements:
Graduate Physician Assistant Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission of Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Heart Association (AHA).
Licensure: Licensed or ability to be licensed as a Physician Assistants (PA-C) by the Oregon Medical Board.
Job Type: Full-time, 5-day work week.
