Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery

Utilizing advanced health assessment, knowledge and decision-making skills, the Physician Assistant works independently and in collaboration with Physicians and other health care professionals (3 Physicians, 6 APC's and 9 additional staff members). Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers and others. Our Neurosurgery department provides a collegial working environment to ensure our patients receive the best possible care. We strive for a positive working environment with providers and staff with our "patient first attitude". Physicians in this department are very approachable and work well together. This is a robust, full service neurosurgical practice with a team based approach to patient care. Estimated Patients Seen per day: 10 -12 (2-3 x per week). Estimated Procedures per day: 2 - 3 ( 2-3x per week). Base Schedule: Monday - Friday 0700 - 1600. Alternating Clinic/OR days, plus shared call/weekend/holidays. Call Ratio/Schedule Details: Days with variable 24-hour call responsibility - alternating Hospital Floor Call (approximately 5 days per month). 1:4 Surgical Call Ration and 1:5 floor/hospital call ratio. Clinic Work: 40% - Clinic Practice will have collaborative appointments with physicians, an independent schedule of patients. Schedule will include surgical consults, non-surgical consults, post-op follow up, and non-surgical trauma patients. Hospital Work: 60% Operating room assisting with the neurosurgeons and hospital floor patient care including rounds, admissions and discharges. SCHEDULE CAN BE FLEXIBLE DEPENDING ON CANDIDATE'S CLINICAL AND/OR SURGICAL EXPERIENCE. Ideal Candidate Must have ability to work independently. Clinical and Surgical experience highly desired
