Ascension Providence Hospital-Southfield and Providence Park-Novi is seeking a Trauma and Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This is a full-time position at Verified Level II Trauma Centers. The APP will be working with the Southfield and Novi medical directors along with nurse practitioners whose trauma experience ranges up to 20 years.
Responsibilities
Mix of inpatient and outpatient duties (mostly inpatient)
6-8 outpatient visits per week
Visits include post-op care, wound care, and trauma discharge follow-up
Inpatient census ranges from 8-20 patients per day
Inpatient rounding duties include:
Round and manage all aspects of trauma patient care including the emergency department, hospital floors, ICU, and neuro ICU management. Procedures include vents, chest tubes, central and arterial lines, wound care, FAST, etc.
Occasional trauma related surgeries (another team of APP’s assist in the operating room)
Schedule
The trauma service department is staffed 24/7/365
12 hour shifts-rotating
6am-6pm
10am-10pm
6pm-6am
Every 2nd or 3rd weekend rotation including holidays
Requirements
Qualifications:
Prefer 2-3 years’ experience as a nurse practitioner with trauma, ICU, or NSICU experience
Nurse Practitioner
Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification
State of Michigan Board of Nursing Nurse Practitioner License
Nurse Practitioner Certification
Current Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure with the State of Michigan
Current ACLS certification
Physician Assistant
State of Michigan Physician’s Assistant license
Current certification by the NCCPA
Current ACLS certification
