Job Description


Responsibilities:


The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies are to manage and coordinate various aspects of didactic education to include classroom teaching, clinical case development, clinical simulation facilitation, curriculum and syllabus development, assignments and grading, evaluation of courses, and maintaining required documents for accreditation. Faculty in this position will assist with coordination of instructors and learning space when needed, course development and evaluation, and ongoing assessment of quality and sufficiency of the Program as whole. This position will serve as an instructor for didactic phase students in various topics including clinical medicine, clinical skills, pharmacology, professional development, and research methods.


The Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies will also be required to participate in a variety of other responsibilities including:



Providing academic counseling as a faculty advisor to assigned PA students

Providing support with student research projects

Participating in committee appointments

Participating in the process of selecting potential students for the Program

Assisting in the ongoing self-study process to maintain accreditation

Participating in continuing education and professional development programs

Contributing to the administration and evaluation of the Program as assigned

Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.


Compensation and Benefits:


This is a full-time, 12-month clinical tenure-track position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. Health and dental insurances, life and disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees.
