Veterans Health Indiana, located in Indianapolis provides acute inpatient medical, surgical, psychiatric, neurological, and rehabilitation care, as well as both primary and specialized outpatient services. The Medical Center operates multiple Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC's) located in Bloomington, Terre Haute, Martinsville, West Lafayette, Indianapolis (Indy West Clinic), and the Edinburg, Indiana Wakeman Clinic (Camp Atterbury).

This is an open continuous announcement to fill vacancies on a as needed basis. Applicants will be referred to the selecting officials after two (2) weeks from opening date and as needed thereafter.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Able to assess a patient who presents to the Emergency Department and triage to the appropriate Emergency Severity Index.
Able to continuously anticipate, intervene, prioritize and evaluate the patient's condition and requirements according to the patient's health care needs.
Able to rapidly initiate protocols or intervene to enhance, maintain or stabilize a patient's status utilizing interventions proven to be beneficial through evidence based practice
Must demonstrate or quickly adapt knowledge and skills related to the use of appropriate Emergency Department equipment and computer programs.
Must be proactive in professional growth and Emergency Dept., Service, Facility, VISN, or Federal goals and mandates which enhance processes and provision of care.
Must have critical thinking skills and take ownership in promoting knowledge and skills to remain current incorporating, evidence based research shown to be of benefit in decreasing mortality and morbidity.
