Job Opportunity – RADIOLOGY / CT TECHNOLOGIST ( Castlteon PRN Day Shift 7am - 7pm)

Responsibilities
Essential Functions

Upholds the values and mission of the THP family

Perform CT and General Radiography exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws
Utilize appropriate knowledge and documented competency in aseptic technique, universal precautions, and infection control
Demonstrates safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation
Demonstrates continued competence in caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing developmental perspective
Displays a caring and responsive attitude and conducts all activities respecting patient, family and employee rights and expectations, realizing that primary customer needs take precedence
Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring procedure is appropriate based upon medical history
Appropriately protect and shield exposed areas that do not need to be imaged
Accurately maintain all required documentation, logs, forms and records for radiology department
Perform QA/QC of imaging equipment according to established protocols and policies.
Provide basic bedside care and provide assistance and supportive patient care under the direct supervision of the physician or RN, anticipating customer needs and responding accordingly as evidenced by satisfaction surveys and individual reports
Assist in initiating care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures
Accurately and concisely documents services provided within the medical record in a thorough, timely manner
Assist during exams, treatments and procedures, including chaperoning correlating findings with procedure being performed and ensuring Time-Out observed on appropriate procedures according to policy
Demonstrate proficiency at inserting and maintaining IV’s
Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with COLA and CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures
Demonstrate ability to perform laboratory Quality Controls and Assessments, and routine daily, weekly, monthly and periodic maintenance and function according to Laboratory Policy and Procedure
Report adverse treatments or medications in accordance with current policies and procedures
Ensure proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment and medications are available for patient care and Par levels meet facility needs
Maintains confidentiality of all Hospital and patient information as required by facility policy and HIPPA laws
Participates in QAPI activities including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards
Adheres to established facility/departmental policies and procedures
Follows established policies and procedures with regard to attendance, requesting time off according to procedure established by supervisor
Prepare patient meals
Maintains clean work area, facility, equipment and breakroom
Maintains dress and appearance according to policy
Seeks consultation/collaboration for complex issues or when unsure, utilizing resources appropriately
Attends and participates in all applicable facility meetings, training and development workshops
Travel to other THP locations as needed
Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Current Indiana State Licensure as a Medical Radiologic Technologist
ARRT certification in Radiography
High School Diploma or GED
Certified BLS
ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT), preferred
Minimum qualification: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program
Minimum, one (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (General Radiography)
One (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (Performing CT).
Required work experience independently performing all basic CT procedures including but not limited to Abdominal, Chest, Heads, Spines, Long Bones, and general CT angiography
Proficiency with advanced CT applications not required (biopsy, heart scans, perfusion)
Required work experience independently performing all basic Radiography procedures including but not limited to Chest, Body, Long Bones, Spines, Skulls, and Joints
