Here you will be part of a growing Hematology inpatient practice - expanding its hospital practice model through expansion of its Advanced Practice Providers to provide greater patient continuity of care. You can expect to experience:



Working alongside exceptional consultants and fellows providing care to complex hematology patients.

Utilizing your internal medicine skills through the management of inpatient complications including infectious diseases, cardiology, nephrology, and neurology.

Opportunities to assist in the management of hematologic diseases and side effects of chemotherapies.

Opportunities to learn and grow through teaching and mentoring provided by the fellows and consultants through daily team rounds, lectures and case based discussions.


Position Description
Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants will operate with a high level of autonomy. In this role, you will provide a comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting of appropriate laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, treatment and management of chemotherapy side effects, and medical co-morbidities. You will be expected to manage side effects and complications from underlying co-morbidities, hematologic disease and therapy, while collaborating with a consultant Hematologist and fellow. You will consult and make referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team as appropriate and coordinate discharge planning. In addition, you will provide educational support to patients and their families. The Hematology hospital practice and Advance Practice Providers are responsible for providing 24/7 care (days/nights/weekends/holidays), additional compensation is provided.


Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. A current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP, ACNP or ANP.


Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.


Must be eligible for DEA registration.


Additional Qualifications


.BLS and ACLS required prior to start date.

License or Certification
Current Minnesota registered nurse license. Certified or eligible to be certified as a nurse practitioner before employment date by a national clarifying organization accepted by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Certain positions may require DEA registra.
