Physician Assistant needed for a busy Orthopaedic practice in Glendale, California.

This is a clinic and hospital based full-time position with a busy Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon. The physician is on staff at 3 hospitals in the Glendale and Los Angeles area. The practice is also expanding to include an Aesthetics component in which the PA will also be very involved. The PA will act as an extension of the physician and will exhibit the ability and aptitude to practice independent decision-making in regards to patient care. The PA will take direction from the physician, however, over time will acquire increasingly higher levels of autonomy and responsibility.
Job responsibilities:

• The physician assistant will be required to work effectively in both hospital
and clinical environments. This involves the examination of patients,
establishing diagnoses and formulating a treatment plans.

• The physician assistant must be proficient at administering injections and
proper interpretation of x-rays.

• The physician assistant will also field patient calls/emails, address patient
concerns, and fill out appropriate paperwork commensurate with his/her
expertise.

• The physician assistant will act as first assistant in all surgical procedures
and round on hospital inpatients. He/she will work with all relevant
medical departments in regards to case management while coordinating
and managing the course of the patient’s hospital stay.

Requirements
• Must have an active and valid physician assistant license and DEA # in
California and have completed an accredited physician assistant program.

• At least one year orthopedic experience preferred (but not necessary).

• Computer literacy is a requirement – this is a paperless office. PACS system
is also in place.

• Must possess strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work with a
team.

• Must be able to manage time and perform tasks with optimal efficiency
and efficacy.

Salary commensurate with experience.
