Responsibilities
Patient Assessment, Diagnosis & Treatment - Obtains a relevant health and medical history, performs a physical examination both focused and comprehensive, depending on patient needs, identifies health risks and needs, updates and records changes in health status, assesses mental and functional status. Formulates an appropriate differential diagnosis based on history, physical exam and clinical findings, identifies needs of the individual, and family as a result of the patient interview (history) and physical exam. Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Carry out therapeutic procedures such as cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes; monitor progress of patients, report patient's progress to supervising physician.
Physician’s Assistant Certificate of Registration with th Arkansas Medical Board or be certification eligible, and be certified as a Physician’s Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment. Must be eligible for prescriptive authority certificate. Ability to communicate and interpret complex written and verbal messages, complex reasoning, judgment problem-solving and calculations required. Basic computer skills required. Previous experience in orthoapedic surgery or other surgical specialties is preferred. |
