Occupational Medicine - Onsite Medical Clinic Morris, IL

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is recruiting for a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as a full-time medical provider onsite at a company-based clinic. The employer is a large publicly traded organization with more than 4,000 employees in the greater Houston area. Physician supervision and support will be provided by Kelsey-Seybold physicians. As an Occupational Medicine/primary care practitioner treating adult patients, the successful candidate will be responsible for engaging employees in care, delivering excellent patient care and customer service, performing examinations and evaluations, delivering diagnoses and treatment plans, follow-up consultation, care coordination, and care management, and health education for adult patients. The Onsite Clinic will provide CLIA waived testing and other diagnostic services utilizing comprehensive electronic medical records (EPIC). The practice will coordinate care as needed with other primary care and specialty physicians as well as the use of appropriate ancillary services located at other Kelsey-Seybold locations. Clinical responsibilities will include patient management in the clinic. Hours are 7:30a to 4:30p, Monday - Friday as designated by the site.

General Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-placement examinations
• Perform and coordinate medical surveillance examinations
• Review and communicate surveillance exam results and clearances
• Perform fitness for duty evaluations and examinations
• Assess, treat, and document all employee injuries/illnesses within the workplace
• Provide first aid services
• Initiate workers compensation claims
• Provide return to work evaluations and examinations
• Observe and assess the work environment with other safety professionals for potential dangers and hazards
• Manage disability cases and coordinate return to work with supervisors
• Work with employee's supervisors on transitional duty assignments
• Perform Wellness Examinations/Consults
• Perform ergonomic assessments
• Maintain confidential medical records in designated EMR
• Distribute over-the-counter (OTC) medications
• Assist with coordination and follow-up of medical care and referrals
• Assist with immunization programs
• Provide educational seminars, lunch and learns
• Duties performed should provide the highest level of patient satisfaction and maximize employer satisfaction
• Assist Program Director with clinic reports, performance metrics, and utilization
• Works under the supervision of the Collaborating Physician, as mandated by the PA Board of Nursing/Board of Medicine
• Provide basic primary care medical services; refer the employee to the personal physician when necessary

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Nursing or successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program with at least 2 years of clinical experience functioning as a licensed independent practitioner
• Desire and ability to work collaboratively with the employer to positively impact the health of the employee population
• Licensed in the State of Illinois or willing to be licensed as well as other states per the employer locations (the state in which the position is located)
• 3 years of related work experience
• Previous experience in Occupational Medicine as well as Internal Medicine, or Family Practice
• Licensed to practice as NP or PA in the state of Illinois
• DEA license
• Current prescriptive Authority
• BCLS and ACLS
• Previous experience in working with OSHA Regulated Exams preferred

• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
• Knowledge of medical policies, governmental regulations, and procedures
• Skilled in maintaining quality assurance and quality control standards
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of EMR, computer systems, and applications
• Ability to supervise staff, solve problems and make decisions exercising judgment and initiative
