Description

Geisinger is seeking an advanced provider to join an established group of general surgeons and an advanced provider, specializing in breast surgery. The new advanced provider will work exclusively in the clinic and will have have their own patient panel. Experience in women’s health is highly preferred. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced advanced provider to join a team that provides a caring environment to the patients which it serves.


Additionally, the advanced provider will act as the patient advocate in the medical care systems serving as confidant, advisor, and liaison between patients and physicians.

Reports directly to the surgeon for all patient-care-related functions. Charting privileges will be determined by the Procedure and Medical Records Committee as recommended by the surgeon. Deals directly with the medical staff members, nursing personnel and other departments to coordinate patient care requirements.


EDUCATION:


The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician and require completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania State licensure.  


The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.
