Valley Hyperbaric Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant to join our hyperbaric team at our clinic in Roseville, CA. Applicant will maintain the independent outpatient practice without a physician on site. Applicant will act as an expert resource and provide diagnostic and hyperbaric services for patients in collaboration with or under the clinical supervision of a physician. Applicant will be responsible for patient evaluation, interpretation, diagnosis and prescribing of appropriate hyperbaric medical protocols. Applicant must be a California licensed Nurse Practitioner Physician’s Assistant.

Hyperbaric medicine service offers specialized treatment to patients with chronic wounds, tissue damage from radiation and certain infections, as well as for emergency conditions such as carbon monoxide poisoning, diving accidents and gas embolism. Our team is under the direction of MD’s with experience in hyperbaric medicine. Patients are referred from Oral Surgeons, Urologists, Podiatrists, Wound Care Clinics, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Radiation Oncologists and others. Valley Hyperbaric Center will train the Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant in the specifics of hyperbaric medicine.

Prior management experience in physician’s practice

Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate with and establish/build relationships with other medical professionals.
Proven organizational/managerial skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
Essential Job Duties
Clinical Practice:
Perform patient assessment to obtain a complete and accurate record of the patient's clinical information and medical symptoms in order to determine patient suitability in the hyperbaric chamber environment.
Order tests and exams to obtain additional information needed to ensure proper and complete care of patient.
Oversee the treatment provided by the clinical staff, primarily the hyperbaric technicians, including appropriate prescriptive practice to achieve optimal clinical outcomes for the patient.
Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care.
Ensure that records are detailed and complete, complying with related standards and regulations.
Provide regular progress reports to referring medical professionals.

Community Education and Marketing
Will build ongoing relationships with local physicians, wound care centers and hospitals that would be referring their patients for hyperbaric services.

Education:
Stay abreast of current trends in hyperbaric medicine and wound care.
Participate in continuing medical education to ensure optimal clinical knowledge and effective patient care skill.

Consultation/Collaboration:
Coordinates and collaborates patient care efforts with other care providers.
Communicates clinical information timely, accurately, thoroughly, and appropriately to other providers of patient care.

Posting Specifics
Entry Rate: $11,000 per month with a 2% quarterly bonus
Benefits Eligible: Health Insurance, PTO, malpractice insurance
Shift Details: Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm. No on-call required.
Minimum Requirements: Current state license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant.
Other certification: As required (e.g. ACLS, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in hyperbaric medicine, but will train.
